ESAPI 2.5.3.1 is a minor point release that adds:
Validator.isValidSafeHTMLandValidationRule.getValidmethods.isValidSafeHTMLmethods is invoked. The warning notes that the method is deprecated and provides a link to the GitHub Security Advisory.
