Clean up the template (#44)

* fix some instances of commands not terminated with {} (chktex 1)

* add spaces to ifs

* undo spaces in ifs

* remove debugs from before begin document

* delete ifs for beamers

* remove a few more ifs on variables we aren't using

* clean up documentclass

* remove a bunch more stuff that's not used

* revert change to highlighting-macros
