Is there a way to run the event loop on the caller thread itself?

Hello,

I'm looking for how I can submit a bunch of async LIST requests to S3 CRT client (that will basically queue up the tasks in the event queue) and then use the submitting thread itself to run the event loop until all tasks have finished.
