Current readme had not been updated to reflect the use of lerna, and linting was not currently evaulating files in the root of a packages src folder

Thanks so much @alan-churley!
I am admittedly neglecting and leaving the docs behind until the codebase will stabilize a bit (I am refactoring constantly as new features are added).
