.htaccess stopping jquery-min from loading

Hi,

I've just downloaded the great work you've done but am having trouble with using a directory protected by an .htaccess file for password only access (no other paramaters added) yet when using IE 8/9 on http connection I receive a page error:

Message: A security problem occurred.

Now if I add the source to a non password protected directory on the apache server it works fine. Another note this only affects IE as I do not have this error/problem on FF or Chrome.

Am I missing some here?

Uploads in IE are done using an Iframe Transport.
IE seems to have problems with HTTP Basic Authentication when done via an invisible iframe.
Anyway, I would recommend you to use another means of authentication.

I am having the same problem. After figuring out that using .htaccess to password protect a directory on my website ended up breaking blueimp / jQuery-File-Upload in IE, I am now in search of another way to password protect the directory.

@byte-contribs Have you implemented another form of security?
@blueimp Do you have any ideas on where to start while not breaking IE functionality?

I experimented with having the redirect page outside of the .htaccess protected directory, but it still gave an error in IE.
Therefore, I would recommend cookie based authentication instead.

For some reason I don't understand... If .htaccess authentication is used in a parent directory (parent/upload/index.html), IE will run the script properly except for one thing, thumbnails will be broken. If thumbnails are not important for your project, you can use htaccess authentication one directory above the script's folder.
