Thank you so much for your pull request, and apologies for the delay in response.

Since there are quite a few update operators that may benefit from having examples with dot notation, we have created a JIRA issue https://jira.mongodb.org/browse/DOCS-3516 to do a more comprehensive review/reorg and edit of the examples. As such, we will close this pull request, but thank you once again for your time and efforts.
