Use "second", "millisecond", "microsecond", "nanosecond" instead of
"sec", "ms", "msec", "us", "ns", etc.

The initial reason was that the official abbreviation for microseconds is "μs". "us" is only used in ASCII-only environments (because "u" looks like "μ"). But since in most cases full names are used, it is better to use them everywhere.
