I really like this addition! These are good points to keep in mind when interacting with new contributors. I also like that this is phrased in a way that isn't specific to what type of interactions one is having with a new contributor (i.e. guithub, discourse, community calls, etc.).

Do we want to also mention that these interactions are also (ideally) visible to the broader community, so other contributors may also be encouraged or discouraged based on interactions that one may have in these forums?
