sigh the master-next branch CI is broken, but I can't merge the fix for that until this is merged since the build is broken due to upstream changes.

master-next is currently not in a building state. This just reverts the previous attempt to get it to build (since upstream reverted the change), I'm going to merge this for now to get the python issue sorted out so that we can get the builds fixed.

@shahmishal - it really would be nice to be able to have overlay changes to the same repository.
